FFL505A round-die 6500K / 3500K CRI95 Emitter

I have tried these in multiple lights now. The 3500k is slightly negative DUV and a super crisp, clean tint. The 3700k is just excellent. I ordered at two different times and the first batch of 3700k are pinker. I like variety myself and appreciate both batches. The sunset pink is great around the house and the second batch is great at work and slightly more enjoyable around lots of snow.

What a neat little emitter! With it's small die size it's not meant to be a lumen monster, but rather a candela producer, which it does very nicely! Add in the high CRI and nice rosy tint, and you've got a pretty unique and throwy option compared to most small die emitters which are typically all cool white and low CRI. The nice rosy tint, and high CRI of this FFL505A makes it really pleasant to use both up close, and then also far away for distance whenever you need it. I wish there were more high candela, high CRI, rosy tinted emitters like this!

For me, these are the best emitters for long-range flashlights because they are:
1. Cool white
2. High CRI
3. Not greenish

I don't know of any other LEDs that are similar.

I really like this LED. I have it in my T9R and also installed it in another light. Based on 3rd party testing, its not as efficient as the SFT40 3000k, but considering the smaller LES, this is expected. The LED outhrows the SFT40 by a noticeable amount. It has a wonderful tint. I hope they make it in a 3535 footprint as well so we can install it in our multi emitter lights.
